The largest chariot-racing hippodrome the ancient world ever built — nearly 600 meters long, holding 250,000 spectators — is reborn here in miniature as a slender, elongated console that carries all the tension of a track built for velocity. Long and poised, the MASSIMO COFFEE TABLE BY FREDERIK DELBART occupies a wall the way a great Roman aqueduct occupies a valley — with architectural authority and structural poetry in equal measure.

The silhouette is immediately striking. Three sweeping openwork arches rise from the floor and meet beneath a shallow oval top, their vertical oak ribs and rounded-slot cutouts echoing the layered masonry of a Roman hippodrome arcade. The legs are extensions of the arches themselves — the structure is continuous, unbroken, the wood bending and layering with a visual rhythm that the eye follows naturally from left to right, like watching something in motion. In the right light, the shadow play cast across the wall behind becomes a second work entirely.

Two Fenix laminate surfaces in Vert Comodoro — a deep, matte forest green — sit within the structure: one forming the primary console top at standing height, one resting as a lower shelf between the legs.
