There is a particular kind of object that stops a room in its tracks — not by demanding attention, but by earning it. CHENE OSTRICH WALL LAMP is that object. Reimagined by Rachel and Benoît Convers in solid oak, this wall-mounted ostrich console is simultaneously furniture, sculpture, and light source: three things at once, none of them compromised. An ostrich caught mid-stride, poised on the edge of flight, frozen in wood and pressed gently against your wall — and yet entirely at home there.

The form is unmistakably zoomorphic. The CHENE OSTRICH WALL LAMP — long neck curved downward, body held aloft on those impossible legs, feathers trailing behind in layered detail — is rendered in solid oak with a precision that respects both the animal’s elegance and the structural demands of furniture. The grain of the wood runs through every plane of the figure: neck, body, leg, talon. Because each console is cut from solid oak sourced from Franche-Comté, no two pieces share the same grain pattern. The wood tells a different story on every Diva Lucia that leaves the Besançon workshop — a quiet but genuine form of uniqueness that no painting or finish can replicate.

The console top sits at 92 cm — a natural standing-height shelf — and integrates the animal lamp directly into the structure. The lamp rises from the ostrich’s back as though it grew there, fitted with an E27 socket fully compatible with LED bulbs. When lit, it casts a soft, intimate glow that pools across whatever is placed on the shelf and reaches gently into the surrounding space. The lamp does not impose; it accompanies. It makes the corner it inhabits feel considered, inhabited, warm.

At H.151 × L.92 × P.34 cm and a weight of 15 kg, CHENE OSTRICH WALL LAMP has the physical presence of real furniture and the visual weight of fine art. Mount it in an entry hall and it transforms the first impression of a home. Place it in a living room and it anchors a corner that nothing else could quite resolve.
