About the MACAW BIRD CYBORG SCULPTURE

Joan Coderch modeled the macaw’s unmistakable silhouette from glazed white porcelain, finished with a combination of gloss, matte, and metallic polishes. The golden luster that runs through the decorative work catches light differently at every angle, while the black and bluish-gray accents sharpen each contour into something that reads simultaneously as plumage and circuitry. The surface quality alone marks this as a serious work of the ceramicist’s craft.
