Toio Led Lamp Red
Toio Led lamp red takes on a bold, graphic edge in this red finish, turning its already sculptural silhouette into more of a focal point than a background fixture. Conceived in 1962 out of an industrial design mindset that favored visible, working parts, it borrows the shape of a car headlamp and the practical logic of fishing-rod rings to route its power cable along the stem.
A telescopic head sits on a height-adjustable, hexagonal nickel-plated brass stem, anchored to a red base built from angle iron and formed steel. Indirect light comes from an included PAR56 LED retrofit bulb, running at 23 watts on a 120-volt supply, with an integrated switch handling power rather than a dimmer.
Part of the permanent collection at MoMA and still produced largely as originally designed, Toio Led reads as much like a piece of modern floor sculpture as a working lamp. In red, it stands out among unique floor lamps for living room settings that call for a strong accent color rather than a neutral finish, working well as a single statement piece near a reading chair or sofa.
