TERRACOTA ARMCHAIR BY RACHEL & BENOIT CONVERS
There is a reason the oldest building material in human history is TERRACOTA ARMCHAIR BY RACHEL & BENOIT CONVERS— fired clay, brick, roof tile, the red of Mediterranean walls and ancient amphitheatres. It is the colour that earth makes when it means business, and it has been earning its place in outdoor spaces for longer than furniture design has existed as a discipline. The TERRACOTA ARMCHAIR BY RACHEL & BENOIT CONVERS outdoor armchair in Matte Terracotta takes that ancient authority and gives it a completely contemporary form — and the result is one of the most naturally resolved pieces of garden seating in the range.
Designed by Rachel & Benoît Convers and manufactured in France, TERRACOTA ARMCHAIR BY RACHEL & BENOIT CONVERS is a wide, dramatically curved shell seat built from densely spaced parallel High Pressure Laminate slats — dozens of precisely cut fins sweeping continuously from shoulder to seat to sweeping backrest in a ribbed form that evokes the body of a manta ray in full motion. In Matte Terracotta, the slatted construction does something no flat-panelled piece in this colour can — the dark gap between each slat reads as a shadow line against the deep brick-red surface, creating a visual texture that shifts with every hour of light and every angle of observation. From a distance, TERRACOTA ARMCHAIR BY RACHEL & BENOIT CONVERS reads as a single saturated mass of warm red. Up close, the ribbed geometry reveals itself in full dimensional depth.
The shell curves continuously from its wide crown — where the slats fan outward like the trailing edge of a wing — down through the cupped seat and into the low, reclined backrest angle that positions the body in a relaxed, open posture. Four angled legs in the same matte terracotta HPL carry the shell with cross-braced structural confidence on any level outdoor surface — stone paving, timber decking, packed gravel, or garden lawn.
High Pressure Laminate construction means TERRACOTA ARMCHAIR BY RACHEL & BENOIT CONVERS performs where terracotta tile and fired clay cannot: it is fully water resistant, heat resistant, and UV stable through every season, maintaining its deep brick-red finish without the fading, bleaching, or surface degradation that sun and moisture extract from lesser outdoor materials. At 10kg, it repositions easily while feeling, once placed, permanently resolved.
Against limestone, pale gravel, or white render, TERRACOTA ARMCHAIR BY RACHEL & BENOIT CONVERS provides the warm chromatic anchor the outdoor space has been waiting for. Against dark foliage, aged timber, or olive-grey stone, it becomes the focal point from which every other decision in the garden radiates outward.
Made in France. Finished in the colour that built civilisations.

I needed a statement lounge chair for my patio and this delivered beyond my wildest expectations. The terracotta-red finish is bold and beautiful, and the slatted shell design is unlike anything else on the market. It’s sturdy, sculptural, and surprisingly comfortable. It looks like it belongs in a design magazine. Shipping was fast and packaging was excellent. Love!
