OWLS CERAMIC VASES BY MANOLO BOSSI
In almost every civilization on earth, the OWLS CERAMIC VASES BY MANOLO BOSSI have meant the same thing: wisdom, mystery, and the quiet authority of a creature that sees clearly in the dark. Manolo Bossi takes this enduring archetype and renders it in fine ceramic — three owl species, three scales, three personalities — each one a zoomorphic vase of extraordinary character that functions simultaneously as a vase sculpture object and a bearer of good luck in every tradition that has ever looked up at one of these birds and wondered.
The collection presents three species, each unmistakably itself. The OWLS CERAMIC VASES BY MANOLO BOSSI , the tallest of the three at H.36 cm, is rendered in deep slate grey gloss ceramic — a long-eared owl, upright and alert, with those characteristic ear tufts rising from the crown and eyes of polished bronze that catch the light with an almost living depth. Its body is smooth, sleek, and columnar: a vase that contains as much gravitas as it does flowers. The head lifts away as a lid, revealing the vessel within with a gesture that feels entirely natural — as though the owl is simply looking up.
The Barn Owl at H.26 cm is the most luminous of the three — glossy white body with the barn owl’s distinctive heart-shaped facial disc rendered in precise white enamel, small black bead eyes, and a blush-pink beak tip of delicate accuracy. Down each side of the body, gold precious metal wing panels curve and catch light like the actual pale gold flight feathers of a barn owl seen at dusk. It is the piece in the collection most explicitly about beauty — and it delivers on that promise completely.
The Little Owl at H.15 cm is compact, rounded, and entirely endearing — a dark espresso brown matte ceramic body with gold ring eyes and a small gold beak, the head a perfect sphere that sits atop the rounder body like a natural division between lid and vessel. Despite its scale, it commands attention with the same self-possession as its larger companions. Owls have always punched above their weight in the imagination; the Little Owl does the same on any shelf it inhabits.
Together the three form a family grouping of the kind that animates a console, a mantelpiece, or a sideboard styling with genuine narrative warmth. Displayed at varying heights and in their naturally contrasting tones — dark grey, white gold, deep espresso — they create a scene that feels lived-in and considered, like a curated moment rather than a decoration. Designed by Manolo Bossi in colored enamels and precious metals, the Owls collection is a rare thing: objects that are immediately beautiful, quietly symbolic, and genuinely useful — as vases for stems, as sculptural display pieces, or simply as companions that bring good fortune and a little woodland magic to every room they enter.
