MELTEMI GOLD CRACKS

The MELTEMI GOLD CRACKS is porcelain shaped by the philosophy of wind — a tall, asymmetric vessel from FOS Ceramiche’s Anemos Collection whose entire surface reads as landscape rather than object. Soft, horizontally ribbed panels rise in undulating stacked segments, each one subtly bowed and organically proportioned, recreating the sensation of rock faces and desert earth carved gradually by elemental force. The fine matte white porcelain is rendered luminous through this relief alone — shadows pooling in the channels between segments, highlights catching the crests — a surface that shifts as the light moves throughout the day.

Running diagonally across that white terrain are deep, jagged fissures filled with brilliant 23K gold — a mineral kintsugi that transforms each crack from damage into revelation. Where kintsugi traditionally restores broken ceramics with gold, here the cracks are architectural, deliberate, designed to suggest that something precious has always been hidden within the stone, finally disclosed by weather and time.

The irregular, wave-edged rim completes the organic language of the gold vase sculpture — refusing the precision of a machine-cut opening in favour of a naturally broken skyline.
