JAIPUR PINK CERAMIC VASE
Inspired by a journey through India’s landscapes, the JAIPUR PINK CERAMIC VASE from the Mitti collection made its debut at Milan Design Week 2021 — arriving as one of the most tactilely captivating ceramic objects of that year. Its blush-pink exterior is entirely covered in a tight interlocking pattern of raised bubble scales, each one gently rounded and rhythmically repeating from base to rim in a formation that evokes the rippling surface of wind-sculpted desert dunes and wet sand at low tide.
The texture is not purely decorative — it generates dynamic shadow play as light shifts throughout the day, ensuring the vase sculpture reads differently from every angle and at every hour. At the top, the body dissolves into a loosely ruffled, scalloped opening that softens the structured geometry below and adds an organic, almost floral counterpoint to the geometric relief beneath.
Production blends precision 3D printing with manual handcrafting techniques — a process that infuses each piece with the exactness of digital form and the warmth of human touch. The raw, sandy-textured exterior contrasts with a smooth transparent glaze on the interior, making the vase fully water-resistant and suitable for fresh flowers. Because each piece is made individually, subtle variations in surface and tone are inherent — and expected.
