HERACLEUM WHITE PENDANT LIGHT BY BERTJAN POT
The HERACLEUM WHITE PENDANT LIGHT BY BERTJAN POT is the most ethereal of the three Heracleum III finishes — the one where the structure disappears. Against a white ceiling, the white wire frame dissolves entirely into the background, leaving only the glowing Electrosandwich® leaf lenses visible: lit leaves, suspended in mid-air, with no apparent frame holding them. It is one of the more striking spatial illusions available in contemporary lighting design.
When the Frame Disappears
Where the dark and copper variants announce themselves through the visible geometry of their branches, the white version takes a different approach entirely. In white-walled, white-ceilinged interiors — the majority of contemporary British and European homes — the white wire frame becomes invisible at anything beyond arm’s length. The result is a cloud of glowing leaves with no apparent structure, no frame, no visible attachment to the room above. The lamp occupies the space through light alone.
The leaf-shaped polycarbonate lenses are powered by Electrosandwich® technology, the ultra-thin illumination system developed by Marcel Wanders, which distributes a soft, even glow across each surface with no glare and no hotspot. When unlit, the white lenses are indistinguishable from the white branches: the whole piece reads as a quiet field of matte leaf-shapes, still and frost-like. Switch it on, and only the leaves speak — the rest of the lamp has already gone.

Installation and Placement
The HERACLEUM WHITE PENDANT LIGHT BY BERTJAN POT is the finish to choose when the lamp itself should feel like a feature of the light rather than of the room. At 28.3 inches in diameter and 20.9 inches tall, it carries the same generous presence as the dark and copper variants — suited to dining rooms, entrance halls, and open-plan living areas. The ultra-thin suspension wire is white to match, maintaining the floating illusion from the ceiling rose down to the last leaf tip.
In a room with white walls, white ceiling, and natural textures — linen, pale oak, plaster, stone — the white Heracleum III achieves a visual lightness that neither the dark nor copper variant can match. It adds light to a room without adding object. Position it over a dining table or in a double-height entrance space where the full diameter is visible and the floating-leaf effect can be appreciated at a distance.
