ORIENTAL VASE SCULPTURE RED
Of all the collector’s pieces in Lladró’s limited edition portfolio, the ORIENTAL VASE SCULPTURE RED stands among the most technically demanding. Produced by the brand’s specialist Dpto. Ornamentación and limited to just 250 examples worldwide, it draws directly from the vocabulary of imperial Chinese ceramics — dragon handles, chrysanthemum scrollwork, cloud-wave banding, and an oxblood-red glaze — and reinterprets it through Lladró’s most sophisticated combination of gloss and metallic luster finishes.
Two Registers, Entirely Different in Character
The vase is composed across two visually distinct zones separated by a Greek key border. The upper section — the neck and shoulder — is rendered in the classic blue-and-white style of Chinese export porcelain: white ground with hand-painted blue scrolling foliage and deep crimson chrysanthemum medallions, crowned at the rim with a rich cobalt wave band. Two three-dimensional dragon art sculptures for sale, finished in platinum-silver metallic luster, emerge from either side of the shoulder, climbing toward the flared rim as though ascending from the vessel itself. Their scales, claws, and expressions are rendered in full sculptural detail — they are not decorations on the surface but characters in the composition.
The body shifts entirely in tone and technique. Over a deep oxblood-crimson ground, dense raised-relief scrollwork in silver metallic luster covers the entire surface — chrysanthemum blooms, interlocking vine stems, and lotus motifs that would require hours of individual hand-work to apply. At the base of the body, a row of arched ogee panels in silver and white adds a final band of architectural structure before the piece settles onto its carved dark wood plinth.

The Most Exclusive Edition in This Series
At 250 examples, this is the most tightly limited piece in its class. The combination of oxblood ground, silver luster raised relief, blue-and-white upper section, and fully three-dimensional dragon handles places it at the intersection of classical Chinese ceramics and Lladró’s own technical tradition — a meeting of two porcelain cultures in a single object. Insurance is included with every purchase. At over 21 inches tall and weighing more than 12 pounds, the sculptures on wood commands any space it occupies with unconditional authority.
